How it Works

Teams of 4 compete against each other. Home base is Leaves and Lizards Arenal Volcano Cabin Retreat.

Each morning teams are briefed on the days events.
Each evening we share stories of the day at dinner and update the standings.
Points are awarded to each team. The team with the most points at the end of the trip wins! Of course it isn't a million dollars!The winning team will received $1000. A great way to finish a once in a life time adventure!

Itinerary:

We don't want to give out all the details....that would spoil the fun.

Day One:Arrive in San Jose at Pura Vida Hotel, and organize your game. Teams will designate the Driver, Navigator, Scavenger Hunter and Photographer/videographer. Roles will be defined at the Welcome dinner.

Day Two: Scavenger Hunt Challenge on the way to Leaves and Lizards Arenal Volcano Cabin Retreat.

Day Three: Cowboy Challenge. In the morning each team will be assigned a real Costa Rican Cowboy to mentor them. In the afternoon teams will compete for points based on skills learned in the morning.

Day Four: Canyoning with Pure Trek and Volcano Evacuation Challenge.

Day Five: White Water Rafting Challenge with Wave Expeditions.

Day Six: Cowboy Olympics Challenge at our local Bull Riding/Rodeo Ring. Then an awards ceremony and farewell dinner.

What is Not Included

Transportation to/from San Jose, Costa Rica

Trip insurance and emergency Medical/evacuation insurance. You will be required to provide this insurance. Consider WorldNomands.com, recommended by Lonely Planet.

Who Should Play

Anyone that loves to play games and has fun competing
Participants must be in reasonable physical condition with an open mind and a positive attitude.
- You will be participating in activities that include: white water rafting (class II, III, IV), horseback riding, moderate hiking, rappelling and swimming. All activities are suited for those without previous experience. Providers of challenges are experts in their areas of sport and safety briefings are given before each challenge.
- Be aware you may be asked to wake up early in the morning.
Teams could be made up of friends, families (sorry only kids 12 and over ).
For families with more then 2 kids (with one child under 12 we can modify things to accommodate your team).
Companies interested in building management skills could consider Adventure Challenge as part of a team building program.

Details

You will be asked to complete an 'application'. To help us plan the best experience.
You will need to provide proof of international travel insurance and emergency medical coverage of at least $100,000 that includes evacuation back to your home country.
You will be asked to complete a release of liability, acknowledgment of the Rules of the Game, a photo waiver and have these documents notarized.
Legal guardians will be asked to sign for the minors.
There are no refunds if you find you are not fit enough to play the game.
Space is limited to 4 teams.
The Rate is $3300/per team of 4 people. ($825/pp) Rate is subject to change until paid in full.
A $300/pp reservation fee is required to secure your place in a team.
50% Deposit is required within 2 weeks of the reservation fee.
The remainder is due 60 days before the start of the game.
Adventure Challenges can be modified and the game changed to meet the needs or fitness levels of any type of adventurer. If you have a group of at least 12 people that would like a different type of itinerary we can create new challenges and a new game.
